HAL9000 Limited was present at the celebrations of the three years since the first signature of the Covenant of Mayors. This pact - supported by the EU Institutions - groups all EU cities committed to reduce CO2 emissions by over 20% by the year 2020, beyond the European targets. The initiative now involves over than 3000 cities representing over 140 million citizens and creates the platform for an entire generation of “green projects” often financed by the EU resources, starting with the Structural Funds. More than 260 mayors from all over Europe attended the event. Also a delegation from Roma Capitale was present and the Mayor, Gianni Alemanno, took the floor during the plenary at the EP to underline the priority given to sustainable energy investments in Rome and in general in the EU cities.
